We are looking for a CMDB Expert to lead the design and implementation of a centralized Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The role involves driving the initiative end-to-end, ensuring alignment with ITSM/ESM practices, enterprise architecture and security standards (ISO 27001).
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of a centralized CMDB, including design, deployment, and continuous improvement
- Define and maintain the CMDB data model, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with enterprise architecture
- Act as project lead, coordinating all implementation phases, stakeholders, and deliverables
- Ensure asset and configuration visibility, enabling impact analysis and improved IT governance
- Define and monitor the step-by-step implementation roadmap of the CMDB solution
- Conduct internal assessments (due diligence, data quality reviews, gap analysis)
- Align the CMDB with ISO 27001 requirements and security controls
- Redesign and optimize Change Management processes to ensure full integration with the CMDB
- Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to support ITSM/ESM processes and adoption
- Contribute to the digitalization and automation of service operations
Requirements
- At least 10 years’ experience in CMDB design and implementation in large-scale environments
- Strong knowledge of ITSM / ITIL frameworks and service management processes
- Experience in leading complex IT projects and managing stakeholders
- Solid understanding of Change Management processes
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles
- Experience with data governance and data quality management
- Good understanding of ISO 27001 and IT security practices
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Languages: Very good knowledge of English and one of the following Dutch/French
Nice to Have
- Experience with ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow, BMC, etc.)
- Experience in Enterprise Service Management (ESM)
- Background in digital transformation programs
