We are looking for an experienced Functional Tester to join the Branch Network team and help ensure the quality and reliability of our legacy applications. These applications support important processes across our branch operations.

You will work closely with the Product Owner, analysts, developers and other testers. You will analyse requirements, help define clear acceptance criteria and translate them into test scenarios and test cases. You will then perform functional, integration and regression testing, and follow up on defects through to retesting.

You will look beyond individual applications and safeguard the quality of the entire process chain. Using SQL, API testing tools and technical troubleshooting, you will analyse data flows and help pinpoint issues efficiently. You will take ownership, communicate quality risks clearly, and actively contribute to improving and automating the testing process.

The existing description of an Agile Tester in the Branch Network team emphasises collaboration with the Product Owner and analyst, defining acceptance criteria and testing requirements, quality assurance, and the continuous improvement and automation of testing.

You are an analytical and pragmatic tester who:

• Has experience with functional testing in a complex IT environment
• Challenges feasibility from a testing perspective during feature refinement and identifies potential testing impacts in a timely manner
• Estimates the testing effort required for each feature to support planning and test execution
• Can critically analyse requirements and translate them into test cases
• Thinks end to end and investigates issues across system boundaries
• Can independently find and validate test data
• Works constructively with business and IT teams
• Makes risks visible in a timely manner and takes ownership
• Is willing to develop a thorough understanding of branch and banking processes
• Has an affinity for legacy applications and complex data flows

• Proven experience in functional testing
• Experience creating and executing test scenarios
• Strong functional analysis skills
• Experience with integration and regression testing
• End-to-end understanding of processes and application chains
• Practical knowledge of SQL
• Experience logging and following up on defects
• Experience with Jira, Zephyr or similar tools
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• A proactive attitude and a proven track record of taking ownership
• A willingness to gain an in-depth understanding of branch and banking processes
• AI skills to help the team work more efficiently
