Within the infrastructure teams, the Windows System Engineer is a technical referent, recognized by his or her strong expertise in one or more technologies associated with the operating systems implemented, transfer tools, web servers or application servers, but also containers and container orchestration solutions. He/she is in charge of managing the technical base [OS] and the infrastructures that underpin it in a context of development of Cloud solutions.

The main activities are:

  • Maintain in operational condition the services of the perimeter, and guarantee safety and efficiency

  • Carry out studies, contribute to transformation projects and deploy technical solutions

  • Be part of a continuous improvement process

  • Be the referent of suppliers to manage technical aspects

Description     

Carry out, by mastering the methodologies, tools and technologies in force on his/her perimeter:

  • Define standards, engineering rules, Configuration Management processes and tools.

  • Build deployment infrastructures.

  • Automate recurring operating gestures.

  • Participate in the optimization of operated server environments.

  • Ensure the maintenance in operational condition of the infrastructures of its perimeter including in particular.

  • Incident management.

  • Diagnosis of failures.

  • Eradication of problems.

  • Assessment and remediation of risks, particularly related to security and continued service.

  • Obsolescence management.

  • Formalization of the procedural framework supporting the realization of operational processes.

  • Support.

  • On-call duty.

  • The evolution of the infrastructure

  • Install and maintain cluster environments in operational conditions.

  • Carry out studies, contribute to transformation projects and deploy technical solutions.

  • Produce prototypes and deploy the most appropriate technical solutions in collaboration with the business lines.

  • Automate recurring operating gestures

  • Participate in the optimization of operated server environments (performance audits, system tuning)

  • Transform current activities to an orchestrated on demand mode.

  • Listen to new solutions and prospects for changes in technologies, tools and methodologies used

  • Optimize costs.

Ideal Profile

  • Language: Dutch - Knowledge is a plus; French - Knowledge is a plus; English - Good English language skills, both written and verbal, are required

  • Education: Master or equivalent by experience

Required experience / knowledge  

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience

Technical experience                

Mandatory      

  • IT infrastructure

  • Knowledge on Cloud (Iaas, Paas)

  • IT and cyber security·

  • Architecture

  • Good knowledge of Windows in enterprise environment (workstation & server L3 support)

  • Engineering experience : being able to design, implement, maintain and troubleshoot

  • Powershell scripting.

  • Problem determination, workaround resolution, root cause analysis, major incident management

Business experience                 

Mandatory      

  • ITIL

  • Management of production operations·
