Responsibilities
To deliver and deploy assigned projects of both Business process and IS nature to improve the Airline’s toolkit, infrastructure, service quality and operational efficiency across the globe and including safety critical systems that have a direct effect on aircraft operations.
Highly developed business analysis skills that allows the incumbent to coach and act as a QA for the team.
Plan the development and implementation of specific projects ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the agreed specification.
Is accountable for the outcome of the projects that together drive forward the programs of a business domain through incremental change over the 1 to 2 year timeframe.
Coach and direct analysts and technical experts to ensure the quality of the deliverable matches expectation and needs.
Work with functional and technical experts in designing appropriate systems, implement desired to-be processes and to meet the agreed project deliverables and goals.
Ensures compliance to standards and collaborates with the IT partners to deliver architecturally approved solutions within quality metrics.
Manage content, subject matter and co-ordinates specific working groups issues.
Take responsibility for the end-to-end use of either specific or multiple IT applications to ensure their functionalities match the business activities, are aligned with the overall enterprise architecture, comply with IT standards and are thereby fully supported products
Is the business center of knowledge for the applications under control and ensure end user training materials / tools conform to the applications capabilities and aligns with business processes
Is able to translate business needs into common IT descriptions so that Global Enterprise Architects can approve solution direction and vendors can bid and quote for development work
Is the quality control point for the vendors activities and protects the operation by ensuring the correct level of testing is applied to every change (based on Test Requirements Hierarchy, functional, end-to-end, boundary, integration and UAT test methods)
Co-ordinates releases of the products to cover multiple projects in as few releases as possible while conforming to the applications roadmap
Take responsibility for the project or problem producing a result which is capable of achieving the benefits defined in the business case (Prince2)
Primary liaison and facilitator on behalf of the Airline users for specific projects of both a business operations and IS nature.
Plan the development and implementation of specific projects and work streams ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget and to the agreed specification resulting in a positive impact on the group’s business while complying to global IT Architecture and Corporate information security standards.
Manage and control the schedule, quality and cost elements of the project and vendor within the frame of reference agreed with the Program Manager/Director acting to address risks and issues in a timely and effective manner.
Examples of projects are leading the Flight Data Monitoring Selection and Implementation projects globally or leading the implementation of a records solutions for digital aircraft technical records.
Ideal Profile
Engineering or business degree, preferably in, transportation and/ or project management-related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
A minimum of 5 years project management experience in an IT related area
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Professional Project Management certification (e.g. PMI, Prince 2)
Good presentation skills, good negotiating and influencing skills.
Proven ability in report writing, able to prepare analytical reports highlighting and interpreting key business information.
Highly motivated, initiating, good team member.
Flexibility in operating style and attitude.
Diplomatic, tactful, patient and sensitive to cultural differences.
