IT Project Manager

The assignment is situated within the IT organization and requires strong coordination across multiple teams. Due to the significant IT impact within the project portfolio, several project leads are being added within IT — you will be one of them.

The first project you will join is a large multi-year initiative that begins within payroll and related services, but will later expand into other domains within the organization.

You will coordinate across these teams, create insight into performance and bottlenecks, and help drive optimizations.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Leading software development projects from concept to delivery.

  • Coordinating multiple teams and their interdependencies. 

  • Guiding project phases and rollouts.

  • Working closely with the business project manager.

  • Managing developers, testers, Product Owners, DevOps specialists and other stakeholders.

  • Managing scope, resources, and budget.

  • Performing risk analysis, issue and change management.

  • Creating transparency on team performance and bottlenecks.

Service Ownership

  • Safeguarding the quality and continuity of products and services for major clients.

  • Translating customer needs into concrete solutions.

  • Monitoring performance, usage, and customer satisfaction.

  • Lifecycle management of internally developed software.

  • Identifying optimizations, new features, and improvement opportunities.

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients regarding all product and service topics.

Product Management

  • Contributing to product strategy and roadmap.

  • Defining product requirements based on customer needs, market analysis and internal input.

  • Collaborating with development, support and sales on product updates and innovations.

  • Optimizing product positioning and market fit.

Ideal profile

Experience & Background

  • At least 6 years of experience as a project manager in software development (not package integration or implementation—focus on custom-built solutions).

  • Proven experience with complex custom software in enterprise environments.

  • Experience with service management and high-level customer relationships.

  • Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of backend and Java-oriented software development.

  • Insight into deployments, production flows, risk management, change log management, and team dependencies.

  • Experience with tools such as Jira, MS Project, Confluence or similar solutions.
