Tasks
Working on VoIP or Unified Communication development and management is often perceived an ‘overhead’ task, so automating as much of the management as possible lets IT staff work on more strategic and client-facing tasks that can make the company money. Applying DevOps principles to testing VoIP phone configuration, platform, and infrastructure changes can help enterprises do more testing with fewer resources while delivering quality VoIP/UC services to their customers.
The job mainly consists of the following
Taking the lead for all automation and deployment needs
Providing guidance to the squad in implementing the best practice guidelines for automation
Develop and maintain tools to improve troubleshooting and monitoring of our voice infrastructur
Automate/Execute operational sysadmin tasks
Ideal Profile
Language: Good in one of the two local languages Dutch/French + English
Bachelor or Master Degree or equivalent by experience
Certification: Any relevant professional IT certifications will be considered a ‘+’
Required experience / knowledge
At least 5 years of relevant experience

Central telephony infrastructure (Oracle SBC & SIP Router, (Cisco CUCM)
Ability to efficiently process data & automate routine tasks
via scripting (bash, perl, phyton, powershell, VBA, …)
by using (REST & SOAP) API’s offered by different platforms (CUCM, Oracle SBC, …)
by consulting directories via LDAP, SQL, XML, …
providing your colleagues with a simple (php) frontend to launch automated tasks & scripts
Knowledge of LINUX
Knowledge of encryption mechanisms (SSL certificates, SIP-TLS , SRTP, … )
GIT Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment tools CI/CD
Preferable
Basic knowledge (awareness) of network Infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, servers, loadbalancers)
& protocols (VLANs, IP, TCP/UDP, QoS, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, NTP, TACACS, Radius, … )
Basic knowledge of Windows Servers & Active Directory
Basic knowledge of telephony protocols, especially SIP & RTP (incl debugging via Wireshark)
Being able to design, implement, maintain and troubleshoot
Being able to zoom out (see the big picture) and zoom in (in-depth analysis of tasks & dependencies)
Knowledge of Microsoft Visio, Powerpoint & Excel
