Ideal profile

  • At least five years of project management experience, ideally gained within a PMO environment.

  • Familiarity with recognized project, portfolio and agile frameworks, such as PRINCE2, PMBOK, SAFe and Scrum. A relevant certification, such as PMP, is also valuable.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships, create alignment and guide people through change.

  • An organized, independent and results-oriented working style.

  • An interest in improving ways of working and sharing practical knowledge.

  • Experience mentoring colleagues, delivering training or facilitating knowledge-sharing sessions would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of project delivery

  • Translate project objectives into a clear scope, achievable milestones and a realistic delivery plan.

  • Coordinate project teams, allocate resources and monitor expenditure, timelines and the quality of deliverables.

  • Track progress, address emerging issues and adjust the approach when necessary to keep delivery on course.

  • Lead projects through to completion, ensuring that outcomes meet agreed expectations and have the support of the stakeholders involved.

  • Create alignment and support decisions

  • Maintain effective communication between project teams, sponsors and the wider organization, involving the right people at each stage.

  • Organise and facilitate steering committees, project meetings and other discussions needed to resolve issues and move work forward.

  • Provide portfolio and program managers with clear assessments of project feasibility, risks, progress and potential impact.

  • Help align project priorities with organizational strategy and provide input for informed portfolio decisions.

  • Give sponsors and governance bodies timely, reliable information so they can decide on priorities, changes and the future direction of projects.

  • Strengthen project management practices

  • Contribute to the development of the PMO by identifying practical improvements to delivery methods and governance.

  • Help create and introduce shared processes, templates, standards and dashboards.

  • Apply established practices consistently and share lessons learned with colleagues.

  • Encourage collaboration, knowledge exchange and continuous improvement across the project community.

  • Develop colleagues and maintain visibility

  • Coach less experienced project managers by sharing tools, methods and insights from your own delivery experience.

  • Support the preparation and delivery of internal training on project management, agile practices and related topics.

  • Maintain concise, structured reporting on scope, milestones, costs and risks.

  • Review project status regularly with portfolio managers, program managers and other stakeholders, ensuring a shared and up-to-date understanding of progress.
