As a System Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing the server infrastructure that supports the business applications. You will work closely with other IT teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of these platforms, which serve as the backbone of the organization's operations.
Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth analysis to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
Ensure the security of the server infrastructure by applying patches and updates.
Manage the lifecycle and daily operations of assigned assets.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and maintenance procedures.
Collaborate with the Architecture team to design and integrate solutions that align with business needs.
Improve operational efficiency by automating infrastructure and application provisioning.
Partner with IT teams (e.g., service desk, network, security, architecture) to achieve shared objectives.
Continuously evaluate system performance and implement enhancements to improve functionality, security, and efficiency.
Oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they stay on scope, on time, and within budget.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor’s or master's degree in ICT, or equivalent by experience.
At least 5 years of experience as a System Engineer.
Languages: Fluent in French and English (Dutch is a plus).
Technical Expertise
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
Experience with DevOps practices and tools
Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments, including:
Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM, Clustering, File Server, IIS, etc.
Proficiency with VMware.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of Linux (Red Hat/Ubuntu Server) deployment and administration is an advantage.
Certifications and/or working knowledge of Cloud-based technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure) is an advantage
Understanding of Networking & Security fundamentals, such as IP addressing, network topologies, and VLANs.
